Hello, I'm Amy! (She/Her)
MACP. , RCC., CCC.
I am a counsellor who is passionate about supporting individuals and couples through life's challenges. I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, and am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BCACC, and a Canadian Certified Counsellor with the CCPA. I have experience supporting adults and adolescents recovering from trauma, depression and anxiety. I also have experience working with couples to understand the relationship dynamics that are hurting them, and how to change relational patterns to deepen connection, understand and meet one another's needs, and to identify and honour ones own needs within all relationships and life's challenges.

My Values
My work is guided by respecting individual autonomy and empowerment, respect for collaboration and your lived experience, and relational attunement and trust. This means that your needs and goals for therapy are centred in our work, and we co-create a therapeutic process together to meet these goals.

I take the time to understand your experiences, strengths, and goals so we can create a therapy experience that feels authentic and sustainable. I aim to work myself out of a job with you by identifying and building on your strengths, increasing your self trust to meet your needs and care for yourself through all of life's challenges.

Every person is unique, and so is the therapeutic process. Together, we explore your strengths, and work to build self understanding and trust so you can live life to the fullest.

Therapeutic Approaches

I integrate evidence-informed approaches including:
-
Internal Family Systems (IFS / parts work)
-
Compassion Focused Therapy
-
Polyvagal Theory
-
Emotionally Focused Therapy
-
Somatic Experiencing

These modalities support reconnection with your body, emotions, inner world, and sense of self. I offer guidance while honouring your voice, your pace, and your lived experience — you are the expert of your own life and I am here to walk alongside you as you reconnect to yourself.

Virtual and In-person Counselling

I offer both in-person and virtual counselling, so you can choose the format that best fits your schedule and comfort. Whether you’d like to log in from home or meet in my office, you can access support in the way that works best for you.

If You’re Curious About Working Together

The right therapeutic fit is so important, and this often comes from a felt sense of rightness with a therapist. If you are curious if we might be a good fit then I'd love to say hi over a complimentary 15 minute video consult, or phone call before you book your first session. You can book a consult at the link below, or send me an email.

Shame thrives on secrecy, silence, and judgement... The antidote to shame is empathy. - Brené Brown
A bit about who I am
I became a therapist because I believe everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and understood, especially during their most challenging moments. I've recognized how few of us are taught to truly hold space for one another in times of struggle, and how powerful it can be when someone is met with empathy, validation, and respect. My approach is rooted in a feminist perspective — honouring autonomy, challenging the societal pressures and gendered expectations that shape our experiences, and supporting people in reclaiming their voice, agency, and sense of self.
